NEW WORK
ReliaQuest

For the third year in a row, I was trusted to direct a spot for ReliaQuest, the global cybersecurity company that took over naming rights to the Outback Bowl.

This year, the creative called for a train station and fantastic cine-bot camera movement.

The robot was not a requirement, but the train station was a must. It was important to show the security of large-scale transportation data, and with some of the challenges air travel has had this year, we wanted to avoid aviation.

It was also important to keep the human element, so we didn't want to use sourced drone footage of a station.

Tracks? Where we're going we don't need tracks.
I won't apologize for the Back to the Future reference.

My solution was to put a camera on a 30-foot arm over a flat surface. Art team brought in the necessary fixtures (mainly the seating and yellow strips), I choreographed 30+ extras to simulate a busy city, and added the train tracks and train in post.

That shot set the tone for the whole spot: a large-scale shot for a large-scale company.
